1. We are accountable to God for what our children are taught. What our children are taught in school should be a direct extension of our parental views. (Proverbs 22:6; II Timothy 2:15; Luke 6:40)
2. Children do not grow spiritually stronger in a negative Christian environment. Students do not become stronger Christians by being taught non-Christian thinking and values…and there is no such person as a “neutral” schoolteacher who neither advances nor inhibits religion. So much more is caught than taught.
3. Students in Christian schools score high on Standardized tests. Standardized test scores have shown that the scores of Christian school students are consistently higher than state and national averages of their peers in non-Christian schools. (Iowa Basic Assessments, Stanford Achievement Tests, ACT, SAT…)
4. The Bible remains the most important book in the education of our children. Curriculum not God-centered, promotes evolutionary philosophies, permissiveness, progressivism, and modern psychology. To teach God’s law ‘day and night’ as Psalm 1:2 clearly states, school (during the day) curriculum must be Bible-based.
5. Christian schools support the family as the number one institution of society. Christian school students are trained to respect their parents, their Pastor, the police, and those in authority.
6. Christian schools provide a safe emotional and spiritual environment. Along with a child’s academic development, a Christian school provides a secure physical, spiritual, and emotional environment.
7. Christian schools give more individual attention and instruction. In a faith-based institution, teachers and faculty members view every child as a unique person created in God’s image with talents and gifts that can be developed for God’s glory. Smaller class sizes allow students to receive one-on-one attention from their teachers, which permits teachers to know them personally and help meet their unique learning needs.
8. Christian schools focus on character development. At an age where children discover their identity and learn how to interact and resolve conflict with others, the Christian educator helps facilitate the shaping of their character. Since the mind of a young person is not fully developed until their mid-twenties, character development and a proper world view is critical in this highly impressionable period of life. How we act and treat others matters to God, so students learn to treat others with dignity and respect.
9. Christian education has NOT been taken over by atheists, humanists, and moral relativists. Today there is little positive mention of God in the public arena. Man is the center of his own destiny, and there is no moral and objective standard. Truth becomes whatever the person decides that it is. Social and emotional development is the prime objective (not reading, writing, and arithmetic). Activism training and activities (like drag queen story time) are being implemented in non-Christian schools and curriculum nationwide beginning at a kindergarten level.
10. Education not Indoctrination. I Thessalonians 4 teaches us to prove all things, hold fast that which is good, and to abstain from all appearance of evil. Many students spend over 30 hours a week being influenced by content and conduct that is not aligned with Biblical truth. Those influences impact our young people and have a cooling effect on spiritual desire and direction. Christian education is the Biblical approach to develop servant leaders who seek the welfare of all men.
